Bisque Tiles

Bisque tiles are ceramic tiles that have been fired but not yet glazed. They are fired at a lower temperature compared to glazed tiles, typically between 1700°F and 1900°F (about 925°C to 1040°C), which makes them hard but still porous. This porous nature allows them to absorb glazes more effectively when they are later glazed and fired again.

Bisque tiles are often used as a base for decorative ceramic work. Artists and craftsmen use them for various purposes such as painting, glazing, and adding other decorative elements before firing them again to achieve the final desired appearance. They are popular in both artistic and functional applications, including wall decorations, backsplashes, and floor tiles.
